Microneedling

Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure using very thin needles to make tiny holes in the top layer of your skin. The damage helps stimulate your skin’s healing process.

The result is an increased production of collagen and elastin, resurfacing, retexturizing and overall skin renewal anywhere on the body, from hard to reach areas such as around the eyes, eyelids, earlobes, neck, lips, nose or larger areas of neck and décolleté, stomach and legs.

Microneedling has cosmetic and medical indications, we can use it for:

Microneedling Treatment can be performed on both the face and body

In our clinic we use a revolutionary micro-needling technology: Dermapen 4

It is a pen equipped with pentas faceted surgical steel micro-needles that perform continuous, mechanical vertical movements, making micro-perforations (up to 100,000/minute) on the skin stimulating natural regeneration processes. The depth of the needles is adjustable and is set by the Doctor based on the patient's needs. Treatments are faster, safer, and less painful as compared with other devices.

After an accurate skin examination, evaluation of your health history and discussion of your goals for the procedure,we take photos of the area so you can compare your skin before and after microneedling.

The treatment with Dermapen 4 consists of 6 steps:

The duration of the treatment is approximately 60 minutes, but may vary slightly depending on the extent of the area to be treated.

What happens after microneedling?

Microneedling is an outpatient procedure, so you can go home once it’s done. Your skin might be red and swollen for up to five days. A face mask and post treatment cosmeceuticals help to reduce irritation and discomfort. Most people can wear makeup the day after the procedure, but you should stay out of the sun until your skin heals.

What are the risks of microneedling?

Microneedling is a safe procedure, but risks may include:

It doesn’t carry the risk of skin discoloration, unlike some facial rejuvenation procedures that use heat, light or lasers. This makes microneedling ideal for people with darker skin tones.

What can I expect after microneedling?

You may experience facial redness and notice that your skin burns or feels tight for 12-48 hours after the treatment. Most people are able to return to normal daily activities immediately after the treatment. Application of Dp DermaceuticalsTM Cover RecoverTM will seal and heal the skin and cover any redness for an immediate return to work.

Protocol: the procedure involves about four sessions four weeks apart and a maintenance phase consisting of one session every 60 days.

Results: Typically, you will see results after the first treatment. Lasting and more significant results will become visible after 3 to 6 treatments (spaced 2-8 weeks apart). The condition of your skin will continue to improve over the next 6-12 months after a course of treatments, especially when combined with the recommended post-treatment care.

Post-care instructions:

It is recommended to avoid wearing makeup for a few days after the procedure. Your skin will be regenerating new skin cell growth so it will need extra protection from the sun, even in winter or in a cold climate. It’s really important to wear a broad-spectrum sunblock with a minimum SPF of 30.

You will be provided with a pre- and aftercare program that includes recommended sun protection products and skincare tips.
